The island of Okinawa is inspiring. After all, how many places can you find with such a high number of centennials (and all, very wise may I add)? When asked about what they’d attribute to their longevity, they often quote ‘ikigai’ — a Japanese philosophy that is rooted in the belief that your meaning and purpose in life should guide everything that you do. That’s the reason that gets you up in the morning, the fire in your belly, your motivation. I believe only when you’ve identified your ‘ikigai,’ then you can strengthen your mind to align everything that you do with your greater vision of self. Thank you for highlighting some of these other philosophies— they are certainly very interesting!
