Living by your own principles, whatever those may be, is inherently better than following the crowd. People who live by a set strongly held values are much preferable and respectable to those who simply follow the loudest voice and there are many loud voices in the world today.
I definitely agree with this, Grant. I actually wrote down a personal philosophy when I turned 20 and tried hard over the next decade (almost 30 now) to stick to it. I think the benefits are significant. At the same time, it’s important to keep your philosophy flexible and learn from opposing views. Sometimes you may get surprised. Thanks for sharing!
